Sync Dashboard upgrade
To make sure your sync continues to run smoothly, always use the most up to date version of the Sync Dashboard.
Current sync dashboard version number: 3.4.0.0
Notes:
- The sync dashboard requires Microsoft .NET framework 4.6 to run properly. If on .NET framework 4.7 or later, 4.6 may still need to be manually enabled.
- The sync dashboard has been verified to be compatible with QuickBooks Desktop 2014 and later, but may still work with older versions

Find the version number of your sync dashboard
- Open the sync dashboard
- Select About
Upgrade sync dashboard
The sync dashboard needs to be installed in the same location as the QuickBooks program for the 2 applications to communicate with each other.
The install will automatically detect and remove the older version that was previously installed.
Installed on local computer
System Requirements: Windows 7 with service pack 1 or newer
To upgrade the sync dashboard installed on your local computer:
- Close QuickBooks
- Download the Quickbooks Desktop sync dashboard(~988 KB)
- Once you've downloaded the program, select the .exe file and it'll detect the older version
- Select Ok to remove the older version
- Select Yes to confirm
- Select Ok to exit uninstall
- Select Next to start reinstall
- Select the drive the QuickBooks program is installed on
- Select Install
- Select Finish to confirm installation completion
Installed on Server
System Requirements: Windows server 2008 R2 and up
The upgrade will need to be done by someone that has administrative rights to download and install programs to that server. Forward steps 1-10 from above to them.
Installed on Hosted Server
System Requirements: Windows server 2008 R2 and up
The upgrade will need to be done by your hosting provider administrator. Forward steps 1-10 from above to them.
Things to know
- If there are multiple users that run the sync, the sync dashboard will need to be upgraded for each user
- If the sync dashboard is installed on multiple local machines, an upgrade is required for each machine
- If the sync dashboard is installed on a shared server environment, contact your server administrator or host provider to perform the upgrade as they'll configure the specifics on how the dashboard is set up
