QuickBooks Desktop sync error: Error occurred - Error recovery failed, aborting sync

Why the sync error occurs

This error occurs when QuickBooks needs to be updated.

How to fix the sync error

  1. Close the QuickBooks software
  2. Choose Yes to install the QuickBooks update when restarting QuickBooks
  3. Reboot the computer
  4. Restart QuickBooks
  5. Run sync
