Sage Intacct sync error: Periods are closed. Your transaction date (XX/XX/XXXX) is within a period that's been closed.

Why the sync error occurs

This error occurs when the sync is attempting to post a transaction to a closed period in Sage Intacct.

How to fix the sync error

There are two possible solutions, but only the first one is recommended:

Update in Cashflow360

  • Edit the Invoice Date (or GL Posting Date) of the transaction so that the date is in the current accounting period in Sage Intacct and sync

Not Recommended: Update in Sage Intacct

  • Open the period that includes the date of the transaction and sync again

Note: another cause may be a missing or incorrect close date in Cashflow360. Only the most recent close date from any entity will sync to Cashflow360 when syncing at the top level of Sage Intacct. This will possibly prevent transactions from another entity from syncing, even if the period isn't closed for that particular entity. If this is the case for your account, best practice is to manually set the Books Closed Date, and uncheck the sync preference to sync the closed books date from Sage Intacct.

Things to know

  • If you choose to open the accounting period in Sage Intacct and the error still occurs when the period in Sage Intacct has been opened, the bill may still error due to there being no update to the bill since the original error. In this case, make a small edit on the bill in Cashflow360 (description, invoice number, etc.), save, and sync.
