QuickBooks Online sync error: This transaction is linked to an invoice. Saving this transaction would make the invoice no longer valid. In order to make this change, edit the invoice first, remove this transaction from it and remake this change.

Why the sync error occurs

This error occurs when you edit a bill that is linked to an invoice. When you create a bill in Cashflow360℠ and make it billable to a customer/job, after it syncs to QuickBooks Online, an invoice is created for said customer and linked to this bill.

How to fix the sync error

  1. Make the updates manually in QuickBooks Online
  2. Select to not sync the update to clear the error in Cashflow360
