Xero sync error: This document cannot be edited as it has a payment or credit note allocated to it.

Why the sync error occurs

This error occurs when an edit to an invoice can't sync to Xero because the invoice is already marked as paid or partially paid in Xero.

How to fix the sync error

  1. Manually update the invoice as needed in Xero
  2. Contact Customer Support to clear the error
